Built about six years ago, the Performing Arts Center at Avery Coonley School is known for its excellent acoustics--performances by its grammar school students (3rd-8th grades) come through clear as a bell. The students typically put on (free to the public) comedies and musicals such as ``Once in a Lifetime,'' ``You Can't Take It With You'' and ``The King Stage.'' Other artistic groups also use the center, including the Beck Institute for the Arts, which stages musical recitals here (admission about $10).
