I went to Nia for dinner last night. My favorites are the melt in your mouth bacon wrapped dates and the scallop dishes. The white bean purée and sun dried tomato pesto that came with the scallops are to die for!

Nia Mediterranean Restaurant, Chicago's premier tapas restaurant for Mediterranean food, is hosting a special French Wine Dinner on February 14, with two seatings, 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.

Forget Cupid and don’t let preconceived notions about Valentine’s Day Dinners scare you away. We are offering our best menu with some of our house favorites like hand-rolled gnocchi, bacon-wrapped dates and our addictively delicious citrus ceviché, and pairing the food with delicious French wines. Our wine expert, Henry Jansen, will be on-hand to talk about what makes French wines so special.

On January 10 at 7 p.m., Chicago’s Nia Restaurant is presenting a spectacular evening of Scotch Tasting. Nia Asimis, executive chef and owner of Nia Restaurant, is expertly pairing the evening’s featured Scotch with light and delectable seasonal specialties, as well as artisan meats and cheeses.
Redefine yourself in the New Year with a new signature drink. No alcohol merges aristocratic classiness with cage-fighting manliness quite like a glass of single malt scotch.
Just asking, “What single malt scotches do you serve?” will impress and intimidate (yes intimidate) people around you. But scotch can be a complicated order and it is the mother (or in some cases the father) of acquired tastes. The last thing you want is to be embarrassed in front of your friends by your lack of scotch knowledge.
Scotch is a great drink to get into because of its history (learn more at our tasting) and its variety. Each region of Scotland produces its own distinct flavor, while multiple ages per brand ensure years of new and exciting inebriations.
