Nearly identical menus stacked with falafel and baba ghanoush aside, all Mediterranean quick-serves are not created equal. The difference? It’s in the bread—and it doesn't get much fresher than at this Lincoln Park spot. The oven, imported from Lebanon, kicks out traditional pita breads as well as larger hand-stretched flatbreads for wraps. Since man cannot live on bread alone, the compact menu includes the obligatory hummus, plus Mediterranean and Middle Eastern eats such as falafel, Greek salad, lentil soup, baba ghanoush and chicken shawarma. There's also a create-your-own salad option and a smoothie bar featuring both fruit and dairy-based smoothies. The threesome behind Nesh (Joe, Freddy and Rami Kashkeesh) operate a handful of Mrs. Field's franchises and the Wetzel's Pretzels in the River Oaks Center and have plans to open Nesh outposts in the city and suburbs.
