Naper Settlement is an elaborate living history museum--a place where a village of 19th century buildings has been restored or built new to replicate something like the Naperville of frontier and pioneer days. A log cabin, a blacksmith shop, a printing office, a lovely wood-frame chapel and other buildings have been moved (or in some cases built anew) on the 13-acre grounds around the stately Martin Mitchell Mansion, once the home of a leading Naperville family. A tour of the settlement represents a walk through more than 100 years of history.
