If the name of this breakfast-focused Washington Park restaurant sounds vaguely familiar, here's why: The original Ms. Biscuit in Greater Grand Crossing was a South Side institution for 30 years before closing in 2002. This Biscuit, which opened in June 2008, is run by Dylan Reeves, a nephew of the original owners. He's trimmed down the original menu a bit--sorry, no more smothered chicken---but the famous house-made biscuits remain. Get them solo or with sausage gravy. Other breakfast fare includes Belgian waffles, pancakes, steak and eggs with grits, and made-to-order omelets. The contemporary space features a warm color scheme, granite countertops and exposed brick walls. There's also a seasonal sidewalk cafe.
