Patty Rothman’s carryout-focused "cupcake salon" has an all-star team behind it: Award-winning pastry chef Gale Gale (Tru) created some of the recipes and Henry Adaniya (Trio, Trio Atelier) developed the business concept. The rotating cupcake lineup features more than 50 sweet and savory options; on any given day, the menu might include choices such as fig, blue cheese and port or olive oil and buttermilk with caramelized onion frosting and toasted pine nuts. Traditionalists can choose from classics, including red velvet and chocolate. The interior is cupcake-inspired (that means buttercream and chocolate hues) with backlighting that appears to make the store appear to glow from within when seen from the street.
