Named for the co-owners’ culinarily gifted mother who once oversaw her own restaurant in Mexico, this homey looking Gladstone Park storefront offers south-of-the-border favorites fit for even mom’s most picky eaters. Portabello skirt steak, enchiladas mole and shrimp ajillo (shrimp soaked in garlic and pepper, mixed with a cranberry wine sauce) are staples on the oft-rotating menu. Take a look at the eye-catching fruit basket that tops the bar to get a taste for drink specialties--namely, mojitos and margaritas made with your choice of fresh fruit, including guava, raspberries, pineapple and other seasonally available produce.
