At this Mexican Logan Square eatery, chef-about-town Generoso (aka Geno) Bahena (of Real Tenochtitlan) is taking his three decades of restaurant experience to focus on traditional Mexican fare, specifically from the Mayan Peninsula. You'll find steak, chicken, fish and vegetarian tacos and burritos, although you can expect them to arrive tableside looking more like fajitas, with all the ingredients and homemade tortillas waiting to be assembled by you. Meat will be free-range when possible, and there will also be a variety of gourmet burgers on the menu. But if meat's not your thing, vegetarian items abound, including a veggie enchilada with a creamy tomatillo sauce and frisee salad. Seafood lovers will get a kick out of the three to four kinds of ceviche, which will rotate frequently, and chocoholics will delight in the moles. Expect a contemporary feel inside with hardwood and bare tables.
