Located along booming Division Street in Wicker Park, this friendly breakfast and lunch spot is a refreshingly non-corporate (read: not Starbucks) operation. The space is warm and bright, filled with wood tables and chairs, a fireplace and a small breakfast counter with stools. Storefront windows open onto a sidewalk cafe. The menu changes frequently based on demand and seasonality. Breakfast might include choices such as orange brioche French toast, breakfast burritos or raspberry-granola pancakes. House-made granola is also a popular option. (You can buy it on site and find it in stores around town.) Lunch options might include sandwiches such as herb-crusted roast beef on ciabatta or smoked turkey Reubens on rye. Plenty of sweets are on hand, including chocolate-chocolate chunk and oatmeal-toffee-chocolate-cherry cookies, and pastries (with to-go coffee) are popular among morning commuters.
