  I attended Mary’s Attic tonight. I went to the bar to get a drink and was treated as if I was not there. The bartender looked right through me and helped better-looking people. A female bartender who acknowledged my existence finally helped me and I was able to get a beer. When I spoke to a manager later in the night she said she would talk to a manager after making me feel as though it was my fault for not being an acceptable customer for the bartender to serve. I have been a loyal customer to the restaurant for years and frequented the bar and never been treated this way. I am so disappointed I don’t think I will ever come back to the store. I know I have to fight for respect in the straight community but I didn’t think I would have to fight for respect at my local gay bar.
