The team behind Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse and Hugo's Frog Bar run a much more neighborhoody spot with Luxbar. Seating mixes leather booths with 1940s-inspired tables and chairs. On the menu, look for small plates such as tuna tartare with fried wonton chips, pulled pork and filet mignon sliders, plus sandwiches, salads and desserts. The wine list is smaller and more approachable than either Gibsons or Hugo's, and yes, martinis are still available. In summer 2009, the bar revamped its upstairs portion -- usually used for overflow or private parties -- and christened it Lux Lounge, though you won't see that name displayed anywhere in the space.
