This colorful Japanese izakaya -- a casual spot for snacking and drinking -- serves up Asian-inspired small plates in Chinatown Square's East Gate. Kee Chan (Mulan) and Eric Aubriot (most recently at Custom House and Il Fiasco) are behind the graze-worthy menu of starters, grilled seafood and meats and maki. Bright blue cocktails, wavy light projections on the walls and a seafood-heavy menu all jive with the restaurant's fish-centric name. Dishes range from braised pork belly with pickled bok choy to lobster spaghetti with garlic-marscapone sauce to thinly sliced beef sashimi drizzed with truffle mayo. A late-night menu and DJs after 10 p.m. give the small dining room more of a clubby vibe.
