For a generation, this neighborhood favorite has served up a healthy portion of family atmosphere along with homemade fare like seafood, steaks, pizza and, of course, pasta. The family feel isn't surprising. The restaurant is owned and operated by Nicoletta and Salvatore Canale, who have watched the business grow from a small pick-up and delivery spot to a 250-seat restaurant and banquet hall. The Canales' grown children also work at LaVilla, and most employees are like part of the family. Mom and Dad still do the cooking, making everything from scratch. 'They make their own sauce, their own dough ... everything,' says daughter Christine Pentracosta, hostess. 'The steaks are excellent, and the pizzas are out of this world.'
