Since the early 1980s, the Lalich family has owned and operated this carryout-only European-style deli specializing in freshly smoked meats, sausages and salami by the pound. (The family also owns a second location in Niles.) Cuts of meat are carefully selected from local butchers before they're prepared in-house; finished products are free of fillers, artificial colors and flavors. Zoran Lalich, whose parents started the deli, is quick to point out that the deli's all-natural smoking method means many of their products will never go bad (though eventually, they'll dry up). Lamb and piglet roasts are prepared on the weekends and specialty items such as cevapi, small beef sausages, are available for grilling in the summer.
