Update: Los Angeles' Laugh Factory has signed a lease to take over the closed Lakeshore Theater, opening in late 2011.

This 338 seat house was renovated from a former movie theater in 2002 and now houses national and local comedy and music acts, burlesque revues and other live entertainment. Artistic director Chris Ritter works with "The Aristocrats" documentary director Paul Provenza to book established, emerging and cutting-edge national stand-up comics including Janeane Garofalo, Michael Ian Black, Julia Sweeney, Reggie Watts, Kristen Schaal, Maria Bamford, Louis CK, Eugene Mirman, Kumail Nahjiani, Todd Barry, Patton Oswalt, Doug Stanhope, the Upright Citizens Brigade and others.

Operations ceased after the theater's last show on April 10, 2010.
