It may be quick, but don't call it fast food. This North Park express outpost of the La Pasadita Restaurant empire whips up fresh fare for demanding lunch and late-night crowds. The family-owned spot is best known for its made-to-order tacos, which can be filled with a number of specialties, including chorizo, steamed beef, beef tongue, carne asada or chicken, though the carne asada wins the most raves. The stainless steel kitchen, visible front the front door, provides a glimpse into the hustle and bustle required to churn out other La Pasadita favorites such as chicken flautas and burritos. Authentic horchata (a refreshing cold drink made of rice, almonds, cinnamon and sugar) makes for a pleasant close, especially late-night, when it's standing-room-only.
