La Notte Cafe chef Giovanni Mancini might not have formal training, but he does have plenty of recipes to draw on from his Italian family. At this upscale spot, he aims to please every diner, with all the dishes made to order and a constantly shifting menu of specials. Favorites include polenta La Notte, an Americanized twist on the traditional dish including homemade sausage, cornmeal and milk butter in a white-wine garlic sauce. The drink selection includes an extensive wine list, domestic and imported beer and a list of special martinis including the Martini La Lotte made with Citron vodka and limoncello.
