This European-style coffee bar is a bit different from your typical cafe. There's no menu board, no branded merchandise, no syrups or pour-overs, and no wifi. Yet all of these "have nots" make for a high-end cafe experience with a sharp focus on what this Philadelphia-based roastery values: the beans. There's a long stand-up bar and natural wood tones throughout, but what really steals the show is a restored 1930s-era La Victoria coffee roaster, turning out drip coffee, espresso drinks and iced drinks. There's also a farm-to-table movement here, where baristas make small coffee batches with custom blends for other local restaurants (Old Town Social, Next and GT Fish & Oyster, just to name a few). You'll also find an assortment of pastries, such as croissants, muffins and danishes, all from Alliance Bakery.
