From the pinatas on the ceiling to the Spanish magazines in the rack, Jimenez is a blocklong store of everything Latin. It began as a grocery store in the mid-'70s but has grown into a superstore without looking like it was designed by a space-efficiency expert. In fact, it appears as if as Jimenez grew it merely co-opted the next building over and knocked an entry way through the adjacent walls. In addition to aisles of ethnic foods, Jimenez includes a restaurant, a bakery and music store. Shoppers can climb the stairs to the second floor if they would like to book a trip with a travel agent or rent a Spanish-language video. The mounted deer decorating the butcher section is interesting, but don't miss the life-size bull standing atop the cooler section.
