Marco Schiavoni, who owns the East Village's popular Pizza Metro,partnered up with chef Giovanni Carzedda (ex-Pizza D.O.C. and Il Covo) and food importer Massimiliano Agostini to open this contemporary BYOB Italian trattoria-pizzeria in Lincoln Square. Carzedda's menu includes antipasti, salads, pasta, panini and pizza; highlights include spicy pancetta-laced bucatini all'Amatriciana, potato and rosemary topped pizza, and a roasted eggplant, zucchini, red pepper and mozzarella panini. We can't wait to see how the restaurant's name plays out -- Schiavoni tells us I Monelli translates to "those rascals."
