Hyde Park Art CenterHyde Park
Established in 1939 as a not-for-profit visual organization, the Hyde Park Art Center moved to this new location on April 29, 2006 and has historically played a prominent role in the cultural life of Chicago. In the '60s and '70s it gave birth to "The Hairy Who" and the Chicago Imagist School. Some of Chicago's most famous artists first showed here, including William Dawson, Henry Darger and others.
The center's satellite exhibition space, In the Loop Gallery is located in the Cook County Administration Building.
