This River North restaurant-tavern hybrid features a continental small plates menu loaded with beer-friendly fare. The folks behind English and LaSalle Power Co. have taken inspiration from author Ernest Hemingway’s favorite dishes, cocktails and decor to create the concept behind this eclectically decorated spot. And there’s good news for beer lovers: Menu items can be carefully paired with one of 22 craft brews on tap. The attention to detail is obvious from the moment you step foot in the front lobby, which is adorned in floor-to-ceiling Moroccan cement tiles with black crystal chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings. The rest of the multi-level space is decked out in a timber loft style, with brass pendants, lamps, mahogany and marble bars, with reclaimed meatpacking carts as lounge tables and leather club seats.
