Originally built in the 1920s, this modern restored hotel includes elements from its past, including much brass and woodwork. Art Deco touches (bold patterns, bright colors) and musical and theatrical imagery create an upbeat, ready-for-entertainment mood. Next door to the Cadillac Palace Theatre, the Allegro is in the center of the Randolph Street Theater District, within walking distance to the Oriental Theatre/Ford Center for the Performing Arts, the Chicago Theatre, the Goodman and the Shubert theaters.

The hotel is known for offering a number of unusual hotel packages including: "Livin' La Vida Loca," "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Love Shack."
