Honey Butter Fried Chicken

For the past six years, Joshua Kulp and Christine Cikowski (who's worked in pastry at Blackbird and Milk & Honey), have hosted the underground restaurant event called Sunday Dinner. In spring 2012, they'll start serving their fried chicken with a dollop of honey butter six days a week, for lunch and dinner, from a yet-to-be-disclosed North Side location. The counter service eatery's emphasis on local, sustainable ingredients means that side dishes like summer beans with a spicy heirloom tomato sauce and corn cakes and spring peas will change frequently, depending on in-season produce. The daily dessert will be based on fresh fruit--expect cherry, peach and other cobblers and items like banana pudding--and you'll be able to sip on sweet tea and lemonade.
