Trying to eat healthy on the go? This bakery-and-sandwich shop purports to be the first organic carryout business in downtown Chicago. "We feel there should be a healthy food choice in the Loop," says owner Florian Pfahler. Incorporating a whole-grain philosophy in everything it makes, the shop offers "bretzels" as an alternative to bagels and doughnuts in the morning (try one smeared with Nutella, organic butter, organic cream cheese or organic preserves). For lunch, gourmet options include Black Forest ham and Gruyere on bretzel bread, smoked turkey Gruyere on farmers bread, and an organic salad with a whole-grain twist. Baskets and trays available for office boxed lunches and other events.
