The Monroe Street location of this laid-back local deli serves the same sizeable deli sandwiches, fresh-baked muffins and bagels and soups -- three varieties a day, plus two types of chili -- as the eatery's other half-dozen Chicago locations. The restaurant is decorated with 40-by-60-in. black and white photos of Chicago throughout the years -- ranging from 1829 to 1954 -- and, like the other locations, features yellow walls and wooden chairs. Nestled near the massive Presidential Towers complex, the eatery caters to both local businesses and a residential crowd, who stop by for its egg-based breakfast sandwiches and Big Tony sub, stuffed with salami, ham and provolone cheese -- which can be washed down with fountain drinks, bottled beverages or a strawberry, chocolate, vanilla or Oreo milkshake.
