One of a few Chicago galleries specializing in fine studio glass, Habatat is a must for collectors of this unique sculpture. With its primary gallery based outside of Detroit, Habatat is well-known throughout the country and has shown in Chicago at the New Art Forms and SOFA shows at Navy Pier. It also had a River North gallery for several years, but left the city following the River North fire that destroyed the Chicago Habatat Gallery along with 8 others in 1989. The gallery reopened in Chicago in January, 1997 with Karen Echt as gallery director.
