If the trip to Greek Town seems too much to manage, stop in at Greek Islands West for an authentic experience; it's owned by the same family as the original location downtown. The white-washed, pastel-accented interior will transport you to the Mediterranean, and just like at the Chicago location, the wines, cheeses, olive oils and sea bass (fresh, not frozen) are all imported from Greece. Starters range from the expected flaming saganaki to char-broiled octopus and shrimp baked with feta cheese and tomato-garlic sauce. Order your dinners family-style or create your own combination platter, with choices such as stuffed grape leaves, beef and lamb meatballs and spinach and feta pie. There's also a lengthy list of seafood entrees, including red snapper, salmon, sea bass, orange roughy and more.
