Way back before we had the dizzying array of options like wood-fired, organic and gourmet pies, there were the hefty stuffed pizzas at Giordano's (which opened in the early '70s). At this location on the border of North Center and Ravenswood, the belly-busting pies come loaded with the usual suspects (like sausage or Canadian bacon); if you're looking for upscale items like rapini or truffles, you're outta luck. If extreme carb-loading isn't in the forecast, go for a thin-crust disc instead. Pie-snobs can opt for choices like lasagna, baked mostaccioli or an Italian beef sandwich.
