Giovanni Garelli has been in the restaurant biz for more than forty years, starting with his parents eatery in Seville, Spain, then moving into stints at Chicago eateries like Scoozi, Shaw's Crab House and the venerable Gordon. Garelli's mother is Italian and his father is Spanish -- he uses his background here and at his other eatery Tapas Barcelona. The seasonally changing menu features Northern Italian fare including house-made pastas and rustic Roman-style pizzas. Heartier choices include a honey-balsamic glazed salmon and a chicken Marsala with wild mushrooms and sauteed spinach. Daily specials feature a risotto of the day and veal options like osso buco.
