From noon to 1 p.m., expect long lines at Gigio's Pizzeria when Northwestern students and Evanston professionals on lunch pack in for the cheeseburgers and New York-style pizza by the slice. According to manager Jose Lopez, the fast-food style restaurant serves about 200 people during the lunch hour alone. There's a second rush after work, but the fresh food is worth the wait. Nearly all ingredients are homemade, from the sauce to the sausage.
