After two years in an Ogden Avenue strip mall, the family-owned Gelati has moved to bigger digs in downtown Naperville. All of their gelato, sorbets and ice cream cakes are made from scratch daily. While you'll find 20 to 30 varieties on any given day, recipes rotate throughout the year depending on what's in season and the preferences of who's working the kitchen. If you want to make sure you get your favorite, call ahead and they can whip it up in 20 minutes. Tastes range well beyond traditional lemon and strawberry to kiwi, pink grapefruit and their signature Donatella, a sweet cream ice cream with chocolate chips, Cocoa Krispies and caramel drizzle. If you need more than sugar to get through the day, order your gelato served up like a float with a shot of espresso.
