This lush oasis nestled in the northern section of Garfield Park features exotic plants, flowers, cacti, trees and other flora from several regions. With 4.5 acres of indoor landscaping, the conservatory, designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen, is one of the world's largest gardens under glass. Ongoing workshops and demonstations cover green topics such as composting and gardening (fees and registration may apply) and floral displays change with the seasons. Fountains and small waterfalls make for a pleasant and serene indoor environment. The building first opened in 1908.
