No such thing as an Irish-Italian restaurant? Then you've never tried Fox's, which has been a Beverly favorite for decades primarily because of its sweet-yet-spicy thin-crust pizza. Whether it's the popular plain sausage pizza, with chunks of zesty ground meat, or pepperoni and all the toppings, this pie is sure to please. Fox's menu also includes several basic pasta dishes, soups, and sandwiches--including the famous corned beef sandwich, a nod to the owners' Irish roots. The restaurant's recently remodeled interior is slightly larger and brighter, though its still maintains its dark, intimate, pub-like feel with high-backed wooden booths. People who live in the area, however, don't have to worry about waiting for seats because the renovation also made Fox's always-busy carry-out and delivery trade much easier. Its fleet of hot-box delivery vans can be seen plying the neighborhood streets every night.
