The owners of Amelia's Mestizo Grill are behind this upscale Mexican eatery in West Town, which has a contemporary 76-seat interior washed in neutral (read: not traditionally bright Mexican) colors and an open kitchen for prime viewing from the bar. The menu pulls together influences from Italian, French and Chinese cooking, and that's no surprise given that the kitchen staff collectively has experience at MK, Bin 36, Red Light and Gioco, to name a few. Start with corn tamales with queso fresco and grilled tomato salsa, or lobster empanadas with cream cheese, shallots and pesto with watercress salad. A few of the global menu items include pork tenderloin with fava beans, grilled atlantic salmon with carmelized mango, papaya and avocado and Mexican prawns. During summer months, sip margaritas, wines or 15 types of tequila on the 60-seat patio on the corner of Ogden and Grand.
