El PotosiIrving Park
A meal at this quirky little Irving Park taqueria in is sort of like eating in your grandpa's garage (or Pee-wee's Playhouse—take your pick). The awning-covered front patio, decorated with old wagon and bicycle wheels, tools, and pots and pans, easily can be mistaken for a mini-flea market. Inside the shack-shaped dining room, you'll find a couple of tables surrounded by black-and-white photos of Mexican rebels, and a charming woman who's quick to respond, "Cash, honey," when you reach for a credit card. Mexican standards such as tacos, burritos, tortas and nachos abound, and prices won't put a dent in your wallet (in fact, they'll hardly nick it).
