Stuffed is out and thin is in at this Italian favorite in the Gold Coast. Although pizza chain Edwardo's is still serving up the deep-dish pizza it's known for at its handful of other Chicagoland locations, this sibling spot features lighter hand-tossed pies and a lineup of salads, panini and pastas. Start with apps such as mushroom crostini or an artisan cheese tray, then make your way to salads with Tuscan veggies, crispy pancetta or avocado and arugula. Heartier dishes include the whole-wheat pesto pappardelle, fusili funghi and black ink linguini with shrimp in a spicy tomato sauce. As for the pizzas themselves, there are options such as mahrgarita, proscuitto and arugula or sausage, peppers and onions. The interior has been completely revamped with rustic Tuscan decor, cozy seating and a wooden bar serving up a selection of Italian wines, spirits and beer.
