Even Chicago's beloved hot dogs have been swept up in the green movement. At this mostly organic North Center spot, you'll find dogs -- prepared on a roller grill, not boiled -- featuring grass-fed beef as well as organic pork, chicken or turkey. But it's the verdant Green Dog -- made with fresh spinach and feta, chicken and turkey sausage -- really drives home the point. Even condiments feature natural and organic ingredients (but sorry, Chicago dog fans--no sport peppers here). In addition to dogs, you'll find baked goods, organic soups, and small-batch ice cream from Traderspoint, an organic creamery located outside Indianapolis. The space is just step-above most dog stands, featuring earth tones, country-chic touches and a welcoming row of mothers-in-law's tongues.
