This family-friendly restaurant is the third Illinois location for the California-based chain, famous for its heroically large portions and Western gold-rush theme. The building's lofty Arts and Crafts style features natural rock fireplaces and an open, display kitchen. The menu focuses mainly on American classics, but includes a few surprises (like sushi!) in addition to more traditional fare such as meatloaf, salads and sandwiches. Claim Jumper brews a few of its own beers, including the Honey Blonde and Original Red Ale, which you can enjoy in The Saloon (that'd be the bar).
