You may have remembered a short-lived Edgebrook cafe by the same name, but this casual Ravenswood spot (in the former Ravenswood Grill space) bears no resemblance to the now-shuttered coffee shop. Instead, this eatery serves American bistro-style fare with Italian, Mexican and French influences. On weekdays, the breakfast and lunch menus are fairly straightforward with egg dishes, French toast and salads with homemade dressings. But on weekends, they kick things up a notch with a BYO brunch featuring entrees such as chicken flautas on flour tortillas over Mexican rice and organic eggs with homemade guacamole. Sweet breakfast treats include French toast with homemade cinnamon dulche de leche, or banana French toast with vanilla-bean mascarpone cheese in a rum sauce.
