This family-owned Mexican BYOB in Logan Square boasts a menu filled with influences from a variety of chile peppers with varying degrees of heat--mild, sweet, spicy and everything in between. To start, don't miss the tortas de cangrejos (crab cakes served on a fresh tomatillo with jalapeno salsa, topped with crispy leeks). Standout entrees include molcajete, grilled chicken, steak or shrimp served in a traditional vessel with cacti, chihuahua cheese and arbol-tomatillo salsa, and poc chuck, scalloped pork tenderloin marinated in achiote salsa and orange juice. A dreamy, lantern-lit interior with candles and Aztec-style paintings give the spot a rustic, whimsical feel.
