White Sox chef A.J. Rudis, who's pictured on the sign out front, sells 17 sandwiches, fresh-cut fries and homemade mac and cheese out of this walk-in counter spot near Cellular Field. Handheld eats include a jumbo portabella sandwich, sauteed grouper sandwich with red cabbage chipotle slaw and the restaurant's biggest seller, a 10-ounce cheeseburger. There's no seating in the small, takeout-only eatery, but there's plenty on hand for Sox fans. During baseball season, the eatery will stay open an hour after last pitch--and if you want to try what the White Sox are having at the clubhouse, Rudis plans to offer whatever he's whipping up as a daily lunch special.
