Poets, writers, and artists have all made the Jumping Bean a Pilsen standby for the last 10 years. During the day, the bright blue walls make the room an inviting space, and students come to spend long hours with gourmet coffees and zesty soups. At night, professionals--and occasionally even cops--have the run of the place, gorging on ritzy desserts and reveling in world music. And while the Jumping Bean can lay claim to being the best café in the neighborhood, they also boast one of the last pay phones that only costs a quarter.
