The folks behind Pilsen's beloved BomBon Bakery, which was lost to a fire in 2008, now operate this outpost inside the Ogilvie Transportation Center in the West Loop. This counter service-only spot stocks baked goods such as individual pastries and mini-cakes, plus a lineup of seasonal goodies such as breads and fruit tarts. The tiny space doesn't have room for seating, in part because the counters are chock full of both American- and Mexican-influenced sweets, including tres leches cake, frosted cupcakes and petit fours. BomBon also does custom orders (with vegan and sugar-free options) for birthdays, weddings, quincineras, baby showers and other special occasions.
