The new Lakeview location of this organic bakery was built using reclaimed wood from the previous Roscoe Village Bleeding Heart at 1955 W. Belmont. When it opens in February, the bakery will feature the same graffiti-coated walls as its Elmhurst outpost--but the menu will focus on specialty cakes and French pasties like cream puffs and macaroons. Lemon bars, Take a Hike scones and other Bleeding Heart staples are still available. However, the general menu will change daily, based on what fresh ingredients are available. (Check Facebook and Twitter for updates.) A glassed-in kitchen lets patrons watch the eatery's red velvet cupcakes and other baked goods be prepared; if you'd rather pick your sweet treats up, the bakery is developing an app that'll let you order on your way in--and have the items brought out to your car when you arrive.
