Bleeding Heart's Michelle and Vinny Garcia have teamed up with co-owners Greg Mohr and Scott Weiner from the Fifty/50 and Roots nextdoor neighbor to run this two-story bakery and cafe with a retro diner look and a glassed-in kitchen for watching all the action. It's not just about the organic treats and crazy cakes that the Garcias have become known for. Michelle is also flexing her brunch muscles with dishes such as vegan s'mores pancakes, myriad Benedict variations and decadent doughnut breakfast sandwiches. While the cafe keeps daytime hours during the week, it goes 24 hours on the weekends for all-night noshing. A dozen-plus doughnut options include the lemon and hibiscus Punk Rock Princess and the maple whiskey-soaked, bacon-crusted Death of John Waters.
