This Italian pizzeria and bar from Tony Mantuano of Spiaggia has taken over the former Bistro 110 space in the Gold Coast. The name refers not only to a kind of cheese from Italy's Piedmont region, but also the first two letters of Mantuano's first and last names. A wood-fired oven churns out 12-inch pizzas in 16 different varieties, including the Clam (Little Neck clams, chilies, garlic, oregano and pecarino cheese) or the Lorezo (mozzarella, tomato, basil and pancetta). Warm up with bar plates such as crostini with onion and lemon marmalade, blue potato chips with orange sea salt or crispy calamari with capers. In addition to the main space, seating options include a four-seat mozzarella bar and a 13-seat pizza bar. Naturally, there's an abundance of wine on hand, including a few varieties on tap. In the morning, espresso and pastries are served at the walk-up bar, just like a traditional Italian cafe. For dessert, save room for gelato or cannoli filled to order.
