The Austin Branch is located near the beautiful Victorian homes of the Austin-Schock residential area in the historic Austin Town Hall Park. It was built in 1929 and renovated between 1979 and 1981. This branch provides the only tool lending collection in the Chicago Public Library System and is a site for the Study Unlimited program. Many organizations, including the Girl Scouts, block clubs, local school councils, social service agencies and other community-based organizations, take advantage of the 150-seat meeting room.
