My Chicago Weekend
We were in the Chicago area to visit some friends over the weekend. These are a few of the places that helped fill our time (and our stomachs).

1
Kernel Fabyan's -
511 S. 3rd St - Geneva
Report this commentDelicious, delicious popcorn. My fav is the Nelly's combo (caramel corn and cheddar popcorn). My hubby is in love with the white cheddar. Literally.

2
Topo Gigio Ristorante -
1516 N. Wells St. - Chicago (Old Town)
Report this commentThe short wait was nice on a chilly night in Chicago's Old Town. The staff was friendly and hard working and the food was delicious. The menu includes way more than the expected spaghetti and lasagna. I really enjoyed their pumpkin ravioli special.

3
Lou Malnati's Pizzeria -
131 W. Jefferson Ave. - Naperville
Report this commentThe deep-dish pepperoni pizza, garlic bread and Malnati's Antipasto Salad were the perfect ending to our weekend.

4
The Second City -
1616 N. Wells St. - Chicago (Lincoln Park)
Report this commentWe saw the late "No Country for Old White Men" show and it wasn't as political as I expected. My favorite part was the after-show improv set. We've certainly got material to laugh about for at least a week.

5
Cocoon -
212 S. 3rd St. - Geneva
Report this commentCocoon was a must on our window-shopping tour of downtown Geneva.
-
6
Third Street Shopping District -
100 S. 3rd St. - Geneva
Report this commentWe spent a few hours shopping in downtown Geneva. My favorite purchase was a colorful pearl bracelet.

Nosh -
211 James St. - Geneva
Report this commentNosh was our first stop on Saturday for a noon-ish brunch. I really enjoyed my Plain Jane eggs benedict and because the menu looked so amazing, I couldn't pass up a tasting of their French Toast. I'll definitely be back to "nosh" on the many other amazing-sounding dishes on their menu.
