Best Jukeboxes in Chicago

Forget your iPod. These bars have the best jukeboxes. (And decent beer specials.)

    Hungry Brain - 5

    2319 W. Belmont Ave. - Chicago

Jukebox matches the atmosphere - lived-in, dark, very root of the earth. You can play anything from Hank Williams to Dinosaur Jr. Stuff that can make you think or not think at all. Eitherway, easy to enjoy a hard-earned cold beer.

    The Globe Pub - 3 1/2

    1934 W. Irving Park Rd. - Chicago

Other than being my local when watching some good footy, the jukebox sports a catalogue befitting an anglophile. Think old Madchester (Oasis, Stone Roses) and new stuff (Arctic Monkeys, Radiohead).

    Matilda - 3 1/2

    3101 N. Sheffield Ave. - Chicago (Lakeview)

Good spot before/after a show at the Vic. Jukebox is well manicured with good local and national pop-rock (Wilco, Coldplay). Not too eclectic, yet hip.

    Montrose Saloon - 4

2933 W. Montrose Ave. - Chicago (North Park)

Great summer spot with a great jukebox - complete with selections from patrons.
